A perfect example of my “Form Follows Construction” principle – I imagined a way to create a circular bowl from a single piece of sheet steel; a nine sided shape emits three primary petals, which in turn support another two petals to their left and right.
A combination of folds turns the flat net into a three-dimensional form which embraces its contents.
